Collection: Kava

Our Kava is grown in the islands of Vanuatu. Contrary to popular belief, kava does not contain alcohol, nor is it a narcotic. The kava plant is from the pepper family and the Islanders squeeze out the liquid from the roots and basal stem to extract Kavalactone rich juice. Vanuatu's Kava varieties are higher in Kavalactones than other regions of the Pacific. When consumed Kavalactones in our pure root powder provide a muscle melting effect as well as a mild sense of euphoria. Unlike alcohol, Kavalactone is a substance which is very congenial to gentle social interaction. It is used widely in the Pacific Islands to celebrate ceremonies and festivals and in everyday village culture.
